Hannity Freedom Concert Jackson NJ Photos and Review 2010

On Friday, Aug. 6, Sean Hannity, Col. Oliver North, and the Freedom Alliance ( www.freedomalliance.org) kicked off the annual Freedom Concert series. Held each summer since 2003, the events raise money for a college scholarship fund specifically for children of those military members who are 100 percent disabled or have been killed in action.

Hannity The show sold out the Northern Star Arena at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, N.J. Thousands of patriots from the traditionally liberal bastions of New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland came out of closets and woodwork to lend their support to the conservative grassroots movement and military families. A group from Seattle (certainly no strangers to unbridled left-wing lunacy) even made the trip and was featured on Sean’s live radio broadcast before the show.

Highlights included introductory salutes of the various military branches and a guest appearance by New York’s 770 WABC radio host Mark Simone. Newt Gingrich stopped by with his wife Calista and spoke about the merit of Freedom Alliance’s scholarship endeavor, the importance of defeating liberals in November, and the continuing battle in New York to build an “interfaith” mosque at Ground Zero, which he insists (as we all know) is purely a political scheme.

Charlie Daniels The Charlie Daniels Band brought their country twang and Sean joined them for his annual rendition of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.” Michael W. Smith followed with heartfelt Christian and patriotic numbers and introduced the crowd to two families who have lost family members in Iraq. Oliver North then did the same for two New Jersey sisters who are recipients of Freedom Alliance scholarships. This year’s headliners were Lynyrd Skynyrd, who brought the crowd to their feet with some new material as well as old favorites.

Only six more concerts to go! Sean and the crew will be visiting Atlanta, Orlando, Tulsa, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas, and San Diego before the end of the month. Come out for a great cause and hear “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Freebird” live (a must for all southern rock fans). Tickets sell quickly!
